By the Book Prayer Requests for Sunday 2/21/2010

Between church being closed for two Sundays and my own -- well, laziness, and getting out of the habit, no other name for it -- this past week, there have been no prayer requests. I apologize, and I'll try to get back in the habit. Now here goes.

Praises, travel mercies:
The Flowers family has been doing better this past week... The Houston branch (and their lawyers) have agreed to sit down together to resolve inheritance matters... John's mother is content in the rehab center, and can stay for another few weeks... JK and his fiancee have picked a location -- Statesville, GA in April.
Claudia McManamey continues to improve. Jim thanks everyone for their prayers -- they are definitely helping. You can read the latest update and show your support at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/claudiamcmanamey .
Phil Ridgway got a surprise call from a former supervisor, inviting him to interview for what sound like a perfect position for him. He may have an interview as early as Monday.
We hear that May and Bill Trucano (Jacquie Ellis' parents) are getting ready to move to Florida. We wish them an easy move; they will be missed. In other prayers for travel mercies, Cathy Clement is down in Alabama visiting Veronica this weekend; we ask for safe travel there and back home.

Prayers:
We continue to pray for Claudia, Jim and the whole McManamey/Houry family. Claudia McManamey is recovering from Guillain-Barre Syndrome. [She's at Mt. Vernon hospital, room 523.] Jim asked us to add another G-BS patient, Luther, to our prayer list; he has a much more severe case of the syndrome, and his recovery has been slow and difficult.
Gail Ryder says she is working on her family and personal issues, 'one day at a time.' Larry Springer also says his wife, Nora, continues 'about the same.'
Sue Fitzhugh mentioned her mother and father. Her mother had laparoscopic gall-bladder surgery this past week and told no one in the family about it. She is 78; she is now at home and apparently recovering well. Her father has an alcohol-dependency problem, so coping with both their issues is stressful for everyone. Fortunately, Sue's brother had planned a family trip for this time, and is now with them.
As always, please also keep praying for all the needs in our church, and for God's will to continue to be manifest in what our Potomac Crest church community does to serve.
