By the Book Prayer Requests for Sunday 11/29/2009

Praises, travel mercies:
Everyone will be traveling back from Thanksgiving visits with family. We pray for travel mercies for our church family and neighbors, that everyone gets home safe and without incident.
Pastor and Deb are on their way back home; Doug's mother is stable in his sister's home in Chattanooga, and will soon begin physical therapy rehab for her hip fracture.
John and Lydia Flowers had JK's fiancee, Crystal Pugh, come for an introductory visit. All went well...

Prayers:
Please keep praying for Doug's mom's long-term recovery. She has damage to her liver, and maintaining liver function will be a problem.
Larry Springer asked for prayers for Nora, his wife. She has been admitted for mental illness and will have a hearing on Monday. On the positive side, Larry reports she has participated willingly in her therapy, which is a good sign. He is looking forward to Nora getting her medication adjustment and a gradual recovery. Pray for both Nora and Larry.
Please keep Phil Ridgway in your prayers for his continuing job search.
This Thanksgiving we are especially thankful for the troops defending us overseas, putting themselves in harm's way to protect our freedoms. We remember their sacrifice and pray for their safe return, and for the health and well-being of their families. Please don't forget that they sacrifice so much to serve our country and protect all of us.
Please keep praying for all the needs in our church, and for God's will to continue to be manifest in what our Potomac Crest church community does.

A SPECIAL NOTE: I sent out a note a couple of weeks ago, asking if you wanted me to keep you on this prayer request list even if you are not in this particular Sunday School class. One or two of you have asked to be removed, but others have asked to be kept on. So I will keep you on the mailing list unless you tell me otherwise. And if someone from the other groups wants to add prayer requests you can mail me, or start your own mail list, or add to the blog. Please let me know if someone wants to do any of the above things. As I said before, it's no additional effort to include you; just a few extra electrons. I'd rather, however, meet our prayer needs, and not just clog up your email.
