Praises, travel mercies:
Cathy Clement will be traveling to visit her daughter Veronica this coming weekend. We pray for safe travels, and continued prayers for Veronica, in a difficult family situation with her father and stepmother.
Deb Duty is back and recovered from the flu; we give thanks.
Gail Ryder said things are going better with her family; the foster children are doing well, and she has had fresh thoughts about her daughter Raven deciding to join the Navy.
Rachelle Carson brought us two guests to Sunday School class: Anthony and Paul, from the Community for Creative Nonviolence (CCNV) homeless shelter ministry in the District. Anthony is looking to start a street ministry; Paul is a patient at CCNV, recovering from being run over in a hit-and-run, having required multiple surgeries. We welcome them and will pray for Anthony's ministry and Paul's recovery.
Claudia and Jim McManamey gave praises: this week she has been able to recover walking with a heel-and-toe motion, another sign of her recovery.
Larry Springer said Nora, his wife, continues to do well.
Prayer requests:
Cathy Clement asked for prayers for her brother R.L. Smith and his family, especially Dee, his wife. Her mother, Ann Hollenbeck, passed away this week after a renewed struggle with cancer. Dee and her mother were very close; this is very hard for the two families.
We ask for continued prayers for the Rickard and Cramer families; especially Sherry and also Bill's mother. Sherry will be carrying the burdens of the family going forward. Don't forget to help with support for the Youth Hike, which they are doing to make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Bill's name.
Please keep the Bolton family in your prayers. Prayer is needed now.
Dee Stayner asked for prayers for her daughter Kristy, who is struggling with roller-coaster ups and downs in her divorce.
Claudia McManamey mentioned her daughter Dawn and Dawn's husband. They are still struggling with financial issues, waiting for a job that he's applied for. On the positive side, a temporary job for Dawn has been extended; it will involve travel to several countries, and Claudia asks prayers for her safety.
Please keep the Clements in prayer for the DivorceCare and GriefShare classes. Cathy needs to find someone who can help as a co-facilitator with the DivorceCare ministry.
Claudia also mentioned a person at her sister-in-law's church who has just been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Claudia asks for prayer: she knows personally the struggle that faces this person on the road to recovery.
Larry Springer asked for prayer for a semi-retired minister from Grace Baptist Church and the Grace Filipino church, Charlie Chilton. He's had a recurrence of the prostate cancer that was in remission. Please pray for Charlie and his wife.
