Praises, travel mercies:
Cathy Clement offered a praise for her daughter, finished with the eleventh grade this weekend. She will be staying with us for a month between late June and July.
Travel mercies for all (PCBC family and everyone else) traveling this weekend. Return home safe. We also ask for travel mercies and recognition for everyone in the Rolling Thunder march.
Let's remember what this weekend, this holiday, is about: the people who have sacrificed lives and grievous wounds for this nation, in our dedication to freedom and democracy. We may not always agree with our leaders, but we recognize the heart and spirit of our defenders. Take a moment to meditate, remember, pray, and thank our veterans.
Prayer requests:
We continue to pray for the victims of the floods in the Mississippi, and of the disastrous tornado in Joplin, Mo.
Phil Ridgway asked for prayers for his dad -- he has diabetes and has issues with the complications of the disease.
John Flowers asked for prayers for a brother-in-law, Greg. He's battling cancer, and so far has been doing well with the medication. Please pray for healing. John also asked for prayers for daughter Candace, looking for a job while continuing to go to college.
The McManameys asked for prayers for comfort for the Blecka family, friends of theirs. The father passed away some months ago, from cancer. The family had felt recovered from their grief enough to go on a cruise (mother, daughters, sons-in-law together), only to have one of the sons-in-law die suddenly during the cruise. The family is suffering grief anew.
Jim and Claudia's daughter Tara visited our class, with her son. She asked for prayers for her husband Judd, on a medical mission trip in Honduras; he is leading music and evening prayer services.
Keep Phil and Sue in your prayers, as they prepare for their wedding!
Please keep the Bolton family in your prayers.
Please pray for our church and our pastor's message... with growth come growing pains.
Please send John C. a message if you want to add your name to the snack list. We're all out of contributors!
Reminder: next Sunday, June 5th, is Potomac Crest's 25th anniversary! There will only be a 10:30 a.m. service, and then a giant potluck. and musical festivities. Do plan to attend! There won't be any evening events afterward. Evening classes will resume on June 12th.
