Praises, travel mercies:
Thanks to all who helped with We Love Woodbridge Fall Festival yesterday!!! In spite of the weather, we had a great time, lots of people came... The balloon dart board was a great success, matched only by the hamster ball. Thanks to John F. who cooked some 380 hot dogs, and to Phil who set up the firepit and Pastor Jay who put up an awning to keep the rain off, and to everyone else (too many to mention)... The kids (and grownups) all seemed to be having fun; there were only two minor injuries (someone fell out of the hamster ball).
Dee read a letter from Jay Clement. He's doing well, sober and working, grateful for all the mail he has received from PCBC folks, and looking for opportunities to volunteer and a church to attend in Florida... He credits the church for loving on him and praying for him. Please keep it up.
Prayer requests:
Larry Springer's new granddaughter (the 11th grandchild!) born 10/23, doing better but still in the hospital for a couple more days. Her name is Rowan. We pray for her full health. Larry also mentioned trying to get his car to pass inspection (new exhaust, he will try to put it in), and continuing efforts to help his wife take her medicine and recover her mental health.
Dee Stayner asked for prayers for her sister Nancy, a long-haul trucker battling a traffic charge in the Dakotas, something she is totally innocent of... she goes to trial on December 29.
Jim and Claudia McManamey again mentioned their granddaughter Tori, suffering from ongoing soreness in her wrist (she's a gymnast, and this seriously interferes with her participation in the sport). He also mentioned work concerns.
John Flowers also mentioned work concerns. A reorganization at his job may mean he has to retire; he'll find out this week.
Please keep praying for our church. With growth come organizational and space/facilities problems, and we need prayer and discernment in the church body to hear God's will for us.
