Praises, travel mercies:
John Flowers said he had talked with his son JK, arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa on his mission trip. His training started this past Saturday.
The youth are back safe from camp at the Master's Inn. No one ws hurt or sick, so we give praise for a successful week.
Patty Tucker reports her friend Sherry Robertson (who lost a pair of twins very recently) is back to working with children and appears to be coping far better than expected. More thankful prayers.
Claudia McManamey mentioned her granddaughter Kathryn did not, after all, have mononucleosis, and left on her mission trip to Mexico. They will be building houses at some of the workers' encampments at the maquiladoras on the border.
Prayers:
Mike and Tonia Benfield asked for prayer for Aaron Tweedy, a local coach, and his children. His wife died this past week in an automobile accident, leaving Aaron and three small children behind.
Eileen Kramer asked for continuing prayer for her brother, Bill; his blood count is still puzzling and concerning his doctors.
Patty Tucker asked for continued prayers for her niece Amber Lewis, in Surgical ICU after some very difficult surgery. There were multiple blood sacs and fluid in her abdominal cavity. She was very close to leaving us Thursday night and Patty thanks everyone for their prayers. Amber still has high fever, and there are a lot of unanswered questions about her situation. We still need prayer for Amber's recovery and for family tension and anger as well.
Leanne and Bob Gillespie asked for prayers for their daughter; she is pregnant and due to deliver around August 9th, but her blood pressure spiked up last night to 168/89, and they are very concerned for both mother and child.
Kim Glasoe asked for prayers for his friend Dave Lance, battling throat cancer. He is very sick after chemotherapy.
Susan Fitzhugh asked for prayers for Phillip Ridgeway, on a sport bike ride to the mid-Ohio races with a group from the area. One of the party members already totalled his bike. They will be coming back Monday evening; pray for a safe return.
The McManamey's newest grandson, Oliver, did OK at his two-week checkup; his hearing test will be in a few weeks.
Please pray for Dorothy Barg, a member of our church. Her daughter Nancy Farischon said her mother has been taken to Potomac Hospital with extreme pain in her leg and foot. Nancy is out of state and asks for the prayers of her church family and friends.
Valerie Dinwiddie mentioned her father. He is doing well at present; he sees his cardiologist and oncologist this week. The cardiologist will decide if he can stand another round of therapy for his lung, and his oncologist will check to see if the tumor has grown and what therapy is needed.
Please be in prayer for this year's AWANA program at PCBC. Adult training began yesterday; there is still need for help in the Puggles program (3-4 year-olds) and the Cubbies (the next group up). There is also a need for men to volunteer for the boys in the T&T program (grades 3-6). Eric Zerkle said there have been many volunteers, but the program still needs more.
Let's not forget to pray for the needs of people in economic distress in our own church and neighborhoods. Also, please keep praying for the whole church, the leadership, and for God's will in all the many projects we are undertaking.
Don't forget, we are still collecting Bibles and Christian books to send to India to the IBL.
