By the Book Sunday School Class: Prayer Requests for Sunday 7/5/09

Praises, travel mercies:
The youth team got back on Friday night from their mission trip (it was only a week -- my mistake in the last prayer request mailing). There were some injuries resulting in trips to the emergency room, but nothing major and everyone is back safe. Pastor Jason said there was much fellowship and work for the glory of God.
Jim and Claudia McManamey offered praises for the birth of their eighth grandchild. Oliver Daniel McManamey, born on July 1, 8 lbs 1 oz.
Rhonda Pierce offered praises -- her husband Dwayne accompanied her to church and Sunday School today.
JK Flowers gave praise -- his 'little' brother has a new job, earning more money. JK is wrapping up his planning and packing for the mission trip to Johannesburg, South Africa; please pray for his dedication and success.
The Shanks offered praises for family friends Drew and Heather Campbell, back from their mission trip to Peru.
Heather and Eric Zerkle gave thanks -- their house in Arizona has three prospective tenant families. Pray that they make the right choice.
Kim and Lisa Glasoe have agreed to share teaching our Sunday School class; we give praise and thank them.

Prayers:
Eric Zerkle asked for prayers for his cousin Marvin Soohoo in Hawaii. He has been battling cancer, and has recently recovered from pneumonia. He needs prayers for healing.
Patty Tucker mentioned a family friend, Shari Robertson; she is expecting twins in October, and has a high-risk pregnancy due to diabetes. They're having trouble hearing one twin's heartbeat. Shari will have to remain in the hospital under close observation until the delivery. Please pray for the health of the twins and the mother and for a safe delivery.

Let's not forget to pray for the needs of people in economic distress in our own church and neighborhoods.   Also, please keep praying for the whole church, the leadership, and for God's will in all the many projects we are undertaking.
Don't forget, we are still collecting Bibles and Christian books to send to India to the IBL.
