By the Book Prayer Requests for Sunday 5/9/2010

Praises, travel mercies:
Traveling for Mother's Day (obviously, in different capacities): Phil Ridgway, Dwayne Pierce, Cathy Clement. We wish them all safe travel back home.

Prayers:
We ask for a special prayer for the Bolton family. Jason has resigned as youth pastor at Potomac Crest, effective immediately. This is a very difficult time for Becky and Jason; they need our prayers as they deal with serious issues. We also pray for Tom Carlson, who is stepping in to help with the Youth Ministry until more permanent plans can be made. Please pray for guidance for Tom, and that the church family will rally around him to help over the next few weeks.
We continue to pray for Claudia McManamey, who has now been home for going on ten weeks and is continuing her recovery. You can, as always, read the latest update and show your support at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/claudiamcmanamey. Please leave a note for Jim and Claudia and their family if you visit the site.
Rhonda Pierce asks for continuing prayer for her daughter Britt, about three weeks from the due date for her baby. Pray for guidance and discernment in some major life decisions.
Also, pray for patience and relief from stress for John Flowers, in what should be the last week of preparing a major proposal at his place of work.
Phil Ridgway has not received the final paperwork for his new job. Pray for patience with the ways of the federal government...
You know how we've been saying to pray for guidance and wisdom as our church looks for the Lord to tell us what we as a church need to do next. Well, we will be having a special town meeting after the 11 a.m. service next weekend (the 16th) to brainstorm any and all ideas. Please be in prayer and bring your ideas to this meeting.
Other ongoing requests: Lydia Flowers and Heather Zerkle, and other volunteers, are planning and preparing for Vacation Bible School, in late June. Please be in prayer about VBS and consider how you might be able to turn your talents to helping...
We continue to remember and pray for the people suffering and trying to rebuild in Haiti.
