Praises, travel mercies:
The big praise, of course: the birthday of our Lord and Savior.
John Flowers offered praises for safe travel: his son JK and daughter-in-law Crystal arrived safely in Atlanta to spend Christmas with her family.
We ask also for travel mercies for everyone returning home today, with the threat of a snow storm in the area and points south. Dee Heyden's niece Julia is on her way to visit her, passing through Kentucky yesterday.
Prayer requests:
The Zerkle family (very active in the children's ministry) are home sick today; we pray for a quick general recovery.
John asked for prayers for the Flowers family, beginning preparations for the annual Valentine's day dinner at PCBC.
Mike Benfield was visiting our class today, since their Couples class was all away; he asked for prayers for a colleague, Nick Khazal, laid off recently. We pray that he may find his way spiritually, and we pray he may find Jesus; and we also pray that he may find work.
Larry Springer reports that his wife Nora continues to do well; that they visited family for Christmas dinner and things went smoothly. They are both battling colds.
We continue to pray for the Bolton family; for Cathy's dad, Ron Smith; and for Bill Rickard, battling leukemia. We're also praying for Diana Heyden and her daughter Kristin, and for Cheryl Hartung (Jerry and Tamara Pruitt's daughter) going in for surgery on the 28th.
Also, please pray for those with money or job troubles in Woodbridge and Prince William County as well as the people suffering the cholera epidemic in Haiti.
