Praises:
Saturday 1/10 was breakfast day. The Men's Breakfast was very well attended -- we had 16 men, including Pastor Doug. We discussed setting up cleaning team(s) for the church. The Women's Breakfast was a success -- presentations about women's health, nutrition, and exercise, and much fellowship.
Tom Carlson's dad has shown some signs of movement and reactivity! Please keep praying for God to work a miracle.
John and Claudia McManamey's son Ian and his wife (he moved to Virginia to pastor a church) closed the sale of their house in Colorado.
The Glasoe family asks travel mercies for their daughter Laura, headed back to Florida, to Pensacola Community College, this Friday.
Prayers:
Gail Ryder asked for prayers for her daughter Raven: she will need physical therapy and, eventually, surgery on her knee.
Please keep praying for Susan Robinson. She is home from her surgery. Pray for recovery from cancer. She was expected in church on Sunday!
The McManamey's son-in-law Judd is retiring from the Marines. They will stay and live in North Carolina; he is looking for a job.
The Doyles ask for continuing prayers for the family of Corporal Ash -- his wife Teresa has cancer and has given birth to a healthy baby boy, but her cancer still needs to be dealt with.
Valerie Dinwiddie asked for prayers for her family; they are dealing with some family issues.
Andy Wheeler had to go to the emergency room for pain on Friday. Please keep the Wheelers in your prayers.
Heather Arterburn asked for prayers for her husband, Doug; he is going for his finals and not feeling well.
Announcements:
Gail Ryder is looking for collaborators and quilt squares for her Family Square Quilt Project. The plan is to sew a quilt, have the men build a frame, and decorate part of the new addition with the quilt. See Gail to buy and provide a square, or to join her in the effort; any moneys not used for the quilt will be added to the Building Fund.
Jim McManamey is starting a Truth Project class, meeting in his home on Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There are twelve sessions; see Jim if you are interested. The Truth Project is an effort of Focus on the Family.
Mike Benfield has started a prayer blog for the prayer requests. We will be adding the prayers to the blog, as well as sending them out via email. Eventually, we hope to move the prayer requests completely to the blog.
Ongoing Prayers:
Please keep our youth group, and pastor Jason and Becky, in your prayers.
Help with the youth would also be welcome.
Keep AWANA in your prayers, and all the leaders and helpers. Help is always needed, with registration or with the activities.
The walls of our building addition are going up, and the expectation is that floors will be poured in the coming week. Don't forget to pray for our building effort and the faith of our congregation, all of us pulling together.
