Prayer Requests for January 4th, 2009

Praises:

Andy Wheeler, recovering from his leg surgery. Leg is healing well, the fluid in his lungs has dissipated and he's back on regular food. The next surgery (on his knees) will be in March, if his recovery continues.
Pastor's grandson was born on Friday! Mother (Ashley) and son (Caleb) are doing well.
Larry Springer's family is growing -- his tenth grandchild is expected.
Cathy Clement is very thankful and happy for a wonderful (if too short) visit with her daughter over the New Year week.
Patty Tucker mentioned her son Bobby's heart murmur turned out to be minor -- doctor says it should not be a problem for his participation in sports.

Prayers:

Tom Carlson's dad is given about a 20% chance of recovery -- brain damage due to loss of oxygen to the brain. This Thursday he opened his eyes briefly, though; perhaps it's a hopeful sign. Please keep praying for God to work a miracle.
Lisa Glasoe's aunt passed away on Saturday last. Please pray for the family.
Please keep praying for Susan Robinson. She is home from her surgery. Pray for recovery from cancer.
Kevin Bechtel had a ruptured appendix; he had a filter stent put in his carotid artery, to keep clots in his lungs and knees from traveling to his brain. He is home from the hospital and recovering.
Larry Springer mentioned the mother of one of his sons-in-law, just diagnosed with shingles.
Cathy Clement mentioned a young attendant at a place we go for breakfast -- had a very severe asthma attack Sunday morning, had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
The Doyles ask for continuing prayers for the family of Sgt. Ash -- his wife Teresa has cancer and was expecting. She has now given birth to a healthy baby boy, but her cancer still needs to be dealt with.
Patty Tucker mentioned her stepfather's mother (Betty Rotegard), in the hospital with pneumonia and kidney problems.
Bill Rickard, just returned home, also pneumonia and needed blood transfusion.

Ongoing Prayers:

Please keep our youth group, and pastor Jason and Becky, in your prayers.
Help with the youth would also be welcome.
Keep AWANA in your prayers, and all the leaders and helpers. Help is always needed, with registration or with the activities.
Don't forget to pray for our building effort and the faith of our congregation, all of us pulling together.
