By the Book Sunday School Class Prayer Requests for February 1st, 2009
Mike Benfield has set up a prayer blog for the prayer requests: http://pcbcbythebook.blogspot.com. We are currently adding the prayer requests to the blog, as well as sending them out via email. Eventually, we would hope to move the prayer requests completely to the blog.
Praises:
Andy Wheeler is continuing to heal, and was at the 8:30 a.m. service on Sunday.
Jim McManamey's brother Don had a biopsy, with negative results.
Lisa Qualls has successfully completed a two-week fast.
Susan Vladeanu mentioned she had been looking for a surgeon for a laparoscopic tubal procedure, and had finally found one. The planned date is 2/9; pray for success.
Prayers:
Please keep praying for God to work a miracle for Tom Carlson's dad. He's had some moderate, continuing progress (some days better than others), but the long-term prognosis is not real good.
Cathy Clement mentioned that a favorite high school teacher of hers, Mr. Bryant Fowler, had passed away suddenly. She asked for prayers for his wife, Lessie.
Jim McManamey mentioned a former high school classmate, Marge, who is diabetic, had been taken to the hospital on an emergency basis. The cause is unknown. Please pray for her recovery.
Claudia McManamey has been suffering from nearly continuous headaches for several weeks now, and her migraine medicine has not been helping. She is in a good deal of pain, and she is seeing a doctor this week.
Lisa Glasoe said her brother was suffering from kidney stones and related problems. The condition is very painful; doctors have just put in a stent, that may take care of the stones. Pray for his recovery.
Eileen Kramer babysits for a couple during the week. This week the couple separated. Please pray for them to get back together.
Anita Hampton mentioned a coworker, Alicia. Her mother is dying in their home country, and Alicia has had to go back to be with her. Please keep the family in your prayers.
Mike Benfield also mentioned a coworker, Nick Khazal. His mother had been living with them and taking care of their child. She suffered a heart attack recently. It was relatively mild, and she's now back home; but she is also beginning to have cognitive difficulties, and they will have to look for a place for her to be. He asked for prayers for the family.
Announcements:
A new men's Bible study group is starting next Sunday 2/8; today we also heard that a women's study group is starting the same day. Both will run at the church from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. The men's study will go for eight weeks.
The Truth Project is meeting every Sunday evening at the McManamey home. Please see Jim McM. or John Flowers if you want to know more about the course.
Don't forget to contribute a quilt square for Gail Ryder's Family Square Quilt Project. The plan is to sew a quilt, have the men build a frame, and decorate part of the new addition with the quilt. Any moneys not used
for the quilt will be added to the Building Fund.
Ongoing Prayers:
Please keep our youth group, and pastor Jason and Becky, in your prayers.
Keep AWANA in your prayers, and all the leaders and helpers. Help is always needed, with registration or with the activities.
Don't forget to pray for our building effort and the faith of our congregation, all of us pulling together.
