By the Book Sunday School Class: Prayer Requests for Sunday 6/28/09

Praises, travel mercies:
The youth team left on a mission trip on Sunday at 5:30 a.m. Pray that they stay safe for these two weeks and work and serve as an example to everyone they meet in South Carolina.
Praise for this past week's Vacation Bible School! Pastor said, between 104 children registered and everyone helping, he counted over 170 participants on Thursday. We thank Deb Duty, Lydia Flowers, and all the folks who worked themselves to the bone to put on a wonderful week's event.
Larry and Nora Springer offered praises for their tenth (!) grandchild. Charlotte weighed in at 9 lbs., 2 ounces. [Her mother weighs under 100 pounds, so imagine how light she feels now.] Mother and child are well.
The Shanks asked for travel mercies for Drew and Heather Campbell, teenage friends of the family, on a mission trip to Peru.

Prayers:
Lisa Glasoe, whose dad was being considered for ongoing dialysis or a kidney transplant, has been judged a suitable candidate for transplantation and has been put on a transplant list. Please pray for a suitable candidate organ for him.
Rhonda Pierce asked for prayers for her family. Her daughter has been struggling with a bad breakup, and was on life support for a time; she has come through OK, but the family needs to pull together and a lot of prayer.
Heather and Eric Zerkle asked for prayer support. They need a renter for their house in Arizona -- ideally a successful, well-heeled, careful, rent-paying, quiet...
Helen Richards asked for prayers for her family. There are problems between family members. Please pray for reconciliation.
Angie Blanton gave praises that her father's prostate surgery went well; he is recovering without problems so far.  The boys are going into the second week of North Carolina grandma camp, with the handover on Sunday between one grandma and the other.
Cathy Clement asked for prayers for her brother-in-law, Chris Oler. He turned up a blood sugar reading of 210, and his wife Lynne (Cathy's sister) is very concerned. He's on a trip from their home in Florida to visit family in Indiana with his son Kyle, and we're all praying for their safe return and Chris to see a doctor for treatment.
Let's not forget to pray for people in economic distress in our own church and neighborhoods. Also, please keep praying for the whole church, the leadership, and for God's will in all the many projects we are undertaking.
And don't forget, we are still collecting Bibles and Christian books to send to India to the IBL.
