Praises, travel mercies:
Cathy Clement was down in Fairhope, AL, this weekend, visiting her daughter Veronica, who had her tonsils out. Since she is 16, this is a bigger deal than if she was younger. She was sore, had trouble eating... she's doing much better now. Cathy is back home safe, anyhow.
Phil RIdgway had knee surgery on Monday. Sue reports he is doing quite well, moving about and getting some sleep. Praises for the Physician, the doctors, pharma, and Phil's knee.
Mary Dunlap offered praises: for her former boss, Mr. Tom Blake, recovering well from pneumonia (it wasn't lung cancer). Mary's friend Jody's father passed away, after a severe illness; Mary praised that Jody seems to be adjusting well. And she also offered praises for her brother, still healing well from having a plate inserted in his spine at the neck, relieving some nerve pressure and severe headaches...
Lots of praises this week. Rhonda Pierce gave praise: a person was hired at her job, and (after she finishes training them) she will only have to do one job. She also mentioned her father, who had a stent put in and seems to be doing well.
Phil Ridgway offered prayers and praises for his friend Paul Ebert, recovering from a bad motorcycle accident.
Becky Bolton offered continued praises for God's work in her family's life.
Larry Springer offered praise; he and Nora had a civil interaction, and she asked him to do something for her.
Prayer requests:
John Flowers asked for prayers for Lydia, who is still on job search.
Gail Ryder is doing well with her two foster babies. Now, if the Lord will only help her by letting the four-year-old sleep past 4 a.m. ...
Sue Fitzhugh asked for a friend, 'Please keep Patrick Rotchford in prayer, he is Active Duty sailor and assigned out of the country. He witnessed a tragedy when a skiff capsized; several lost lives witnessed while trying to save others and console parents where their children were. He is having a difficult time dealing with what he witnessed.'
Sue said her daughter Staci has finally decided not to participate in the National American Miss pageant, so she can focus on her studies. It was a difficult decision.
John Clement mentioned his son Jay; he still doesn't seem to be ready to follow the path; he needs Jesus to guide him. Please keep praying for him; we know he's aware folks are praying for him.
Cathy Clement mentioned her sister's sister-in-law, Donna Oler, passed away; she had been suffering from lung cancer.
We are also praying for Gina McDonald's mom Beth (colon cancer); Sue Fitzhugh's mom, fighting kidney failure; Claudia McManamey's former hospital roommate, Mary Alice, having trouble recovering from a car accident; John's coworker, Betty Suber; various classes going on at the church...
Deb Talbot of our church is still asking for prayer support and "...please pass the word on that my sister Leslie O'Neal and her 8 year old daughter are looking for a VERY inexpensive room/basement to rent in the Woodbridge area. Leslie works off Dale Boulevard and Mya is going to school in this area. they are temporarily living with my grandmother and aunt in a retirement community and Mya can only stay there 90 days."
We're praying for the success of the fall festival, that we may reach many neighbors and people in our community. Also, pray for those with money or job troubles in Woodbridge and Prince William County as well as all those recovering from floods in Pakistan and the earthquake in Haiti. Also, please pray for guidance for the men's ministry, and for their retreat in October.
