Praises, travel mercies:
The men's retreat was this weekend. Thirteen men at peak, a good number. We laughed, we prayed, we shared fellowship... we want to have a Kingdom impact, with the Lord guiding us.
John Flowers has been working on outreach to the church's immediate neighborhoods. He has a praise -- many volunteers have stepped forward to pass out leaflets and speak to neighbors. We hope to have everyone know we are here, at least.
The benefit for Bill Rickard and his family was a rocking success, praise the Lord! Many people came this past Saturday, much spaghetti was prepared and eaten, stuff was auctioned off, and we collected $25,000 to help with their medical expenses! Thanks to our church and our Savior.
Becky Bolton offered a praise: she has found a Christian counselor who will help her and Jason. He will be out of prison this coming week (see below).
Prayer requests:
Rhonda Pierce asked for prayers for her daughter. She is currently living with her grandparents, and she has lots of help with her child and can go to school. She wants to return home, and Rhonda worries that she won't have the same conveniences -- pray that she will decide not to return, for her own good.
Becky Bolton asked for prayers for her family. Jason is being released from prison this coming week, and they are trying to arrange transitional housing for him.
Bree Dunlap (Mary's daughter) has obtained her temporary driver's (learner's) permit. Please pray for patience for Mary, and safety for all concerned.
We're praying for the success of the fall festival next Sunday, that we may reach many neighbors and people in our community. Also, pray for those with money or job troubles in Woodbridge and Prince William County as well as all those recovering from floods in Pakistan and the earthquake in Haiti.
