By the Book Sunday School Class Prayer Requests for April 26th, 2009

Praises:
The Third Annual AWANA Grand Prix ran Saturday 4/25. Twenty-seven cars competed, and everyone had a wonderful time. Thanks to all who worked on the event, to T.J. Wheeler who organized, and to Andy Wheeler who worked the track, and to the parents and children who built, sanded, painted and cheered everyone on. Some of the cars are on display in the foyer of the church.
Andy Wheeler is up and about and caneless. He said he's done with physical therapy, and his new knee doesn't creak (unlike the other one). He's not doing the tango yet, but soon...
The Zerkles are back in town! Just a visit for now, but Eric has a job offer at the Pentagon and all four were looking at homes this weekend... Travel mercies for them as they return to Tucson, and we are all looking forward to having them come back to this church home to stay.

Prayers: Jerry Ellis is back home, recovering from a second heart attack this past week. He is doing better, but still has pain, weakness and shortness of breath. They have five stents in an artery! The exact cause of his illness is not known. Keep him, and Jacquie and Jeremy (wife and son), in your prayers.
Gail Ryder's daughter Raven is having a hard time with asthma, especially with all the pollen this season. She is getting a change of medication; please pray for recovery.
Dana Blanton's nephew is straightening out his legal situation with a plea bargain -- there are consequences, but his record will be expunged at age 18. Please pray for him and the family.
Claudia McManamey had both shoulders MRI'ed, and needs surgery for both torn rotator cuffs. At least this is remediable. Her first surgery is May 22.
Phillip Qualls mentioned his youngest brother, Tyrone Eads. He had an on-the-job injury and was fired; he sued and has now one both parts of his court case. Please pray that the employer doesn't continue to appeal and settles -- Tyrone has spent all his savings and needs medical help.
The Benfields' daughter Cassidy is being treated for asthma. She has had a serious, persistent cough for the last 2-3 weeks, and is using both a regular and emergency inhalers. Doctors are trying to see if this is an allergic reaction or something else -- please pray for a cure and for discernment by the doctors.
Bill Blecha (friend of Jim McManamey), who we have mentioned before, is suffering from late stage 2 esophageal cancer. Jim says the chemotherapy is very difficult for him, and he is suffering severe nausea. He has begun to consider discontinuing it. His doctors want him to finish the course of chemo before they will commit to surgery. Please pray for God's guidance and for a cure.

Please keep praying for the whole church, the leadership, and God's will in all the many projects we are undertaking.
