Praises, travel mercies:
People are back from travel, and everyone appears to have gone and returned safely.
We welcomed the Players, visiting our class. They wanted to know how our classes formed; we had never had to explain the process we underwent. I described our class as "we're the leftovers."
Phil Ridgway has applied for a job with the Veterans Administration; it sounds like a perfect fit for him. Praise, and prayers for God's will to be manifest for him.
JK Flowers, Jr., in our class for Sunday before heading back to the Norfolk area and back to work. He and his fiancee will be getting married in April in Savannah.
Prayers:
Claudia McManamey is at Mt. Vernon rehabilitation center, recovering from Guillaume-Barre syndrome. Jim stopped by the class on Sunday to ask for continuing prayers. Doctors expect her to make a full recovery, but right now she cannot walk and has trouble swallowing. Pray for recovery and for strength for Jim and their family.
Cathy Clement's brother, R.L. Smith, is applying for a job with the Forest Service. He has made a living as a surveyor, but times are tough and a steady job with a regular paycheck would really help. We ask for prayers for him. Also, don't forget Phil Ridgway's application with the VA (see above).
Larry Springer mentioned that Nora, his wife, is still struggling with mental illness. Doctors have increased her medication dosage. She shows some positive signs but is at times withdrawn and unwilling to interact, even with close family. We pray for Nora and for Larry.
Please keep praying for Doug's mom's long-term recovery. She has damage to her liver, and maintaining liver function will be a problem.
Please also keep praying for all the needs in our church, and for God's will to continue to be manifest in what our Potomac Crest church community does to serve.
