Praises, travel mercies:
John Flowers is traveling this week. So is Phil Ridgeway, to St. Petersburg in Florida.
Prayers:
We continue to pray for Claudia McManamey, recovering from Guillain-Barre Syndrome. [She's at Mt. Vernon hospital, room 523.] She has two more weeks at Mt. Vernon, and then the family will have to move her to another rehabilitation facility. Her recovery proceeds, but she still has a long way to go. Jim says her spirits are high, however.
Heather Zerkle asked us to pray for her twin sister, Shannon Vanderpool. In Heather's own words: "She has had some symptoms for a while and went to the Dr. today for a mammogram. After the mammogram they asked her to stay and have an ultrasound. The results of the ultrasound were that they found a mass in the breast 5cm that was in the direction of the armpit. They have ruled out a cyst and infection and have scheduled her for a biopsy on Tues with the results to be back on Friday. She left the ultrasound and went to her Dr. who basically said she wished she could tell her it was nothing but “it was what it was” and that if it were her she would go have a drink to try and not to think about it. My sister said I don’t drink and she said I am sorry we will know what we are facing on Friday. To add to this many of you know my nephew has OCD and today was his last appt with his Dr. and the last day of his meds. He has been trying to get off his meds for a long time and I pray this doesn’t set him back; one of his fears is my sister dying. My sister is choosing not to tell them anything until she knows more. Please join me in prayer for my sister, husband Jason, nephew Tanner, niece Tatum, my mom, Mary. Please pray that the Great Physician heals her body from head to toe and that when they do the biopsy the Drs stand in awe at His mighty hands and that she feels his loving arms surrounding her. Thank you so much."
Rhonda Pierce mentioned a coworker, 45, who has recently had a heart attack and two strokes. She also asked for prayers for her daughter, who is still having a rough time.
Cathy Clement asked for prayers for her sister Rhonda and Rhonda's daughter Rebecca, 17. Mother and daughter are having fights and not talking to one another. Pray for guidance and wisdom for both.
Some repeats from last week -- still worth praying about.
We continue to ask for prayers for Gene Cox, a leader in the Men's Ministry. He has been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm (in his lower brain), which doctors now believe to be inoperable; but the prognosis is somewhat positive, in that people live for many years with aneurysms in this location. Pray for the Son to lift his spirits.
Gail Ryder asked for prayers for her family.
We also pray for the men's ministry. They will need support, since both Gene Cox and Jon Pacella are having to cede the leadership for at least a time. Please be in prayer for this ministry at PCBC.
Please also keep praying for all the needs in our church, and for God's will to continue to be manifest in what our Potomac Crest church community does to serve.
