Praises, travel mercies:
We ask for a successful trip for the youth, off to the Youth Evangelism Conference at Virginia Beach with Jason and Becky. Travel mercies for all our other travelers, including Phil Ridgeway and Sue Fitzhugh, catching up on some time together.
Prayers:
We continue to pray for Claudia McManamey, recovering from Guillaume-Barre Syndrome. [She's at Mt. Vernon hospital, room 523.] The family and doctors had a meeting on Monday. Jim and son Judd were hoping for an honest discussion of her issues and prospects, to be able to keep her at Mt. Vernon; pray for uplift for Claudia's spirits, and for the whole family.
Gail Ryder asked for prayers for her family.
We continue to ask for prayers for Gene Cox, a leader in the Men's Ministry. He has been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm (in his lower brain), which doctors now believe to be inoperable; but the prognosis is somewhat positive, in that people live for many years with aneurysms in this location. Pray for the Son to lift his spirits.
We also pray for the men's ministry. They will need support, since both Gene Cox and Jon Pacella are having to cede the leadership for at least a time. Please be in prayer for this ministry at PCBC.
As we said last week: we need prayer warriors to go to work for Doug. Please keep praying for Doug's mom's long-term recovery. She has damage to her liver, and maintaining liver function will be a problem. And Doug's brother, who lost his job because seizures (due to an accident) made it impossible for him to drive; and others in the family with house fires...
In fact, we see signs of spiritual warfare all around us. We urge all of us to be vigilant and pray to stay the course in the face of all the obstacles. Don't be discouraged: the battle will be won in the end.
Please also keep praying for all the needs in our church, and for God's will to continue to be manifest in what our Potomac Crest church community does to serve.
