By the Book Prayer Requests for Sunday 1/10/2010

Prayers:
Phil Ridgway writes: "Please pray that God's will be done with respect to my job hunting. I received a phone call on Friday from the Marine Corps at Quantico. They want to interview me on Monday for a possition down there. It would surely shorten my commute and may be a job with more security. Please pray that if it is God's will that I get the job and the compensation is enough to care for my family."

We ask all to pray for Gene Cox, a leader in the Men's Ministry. He has been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, and doctors are trying to locate a surgeon who will operate on him.

Claudia McManamey is at Mt. Vernon rehabilitation center (Room 523), recovering from Guillaume-Barre syndrome (GBS). Jim again stopped by the class on Sunday to ask for continuing prayers. Doctors expect her to make a full recovery, but things go slowly and she has intensive physical therapy. Please pray for recovery and for strength for Jim and their family.
Jim also mentioned Claudia's roommate at the hospital, the victim of a serious car accident.

John Flowers asked us to pray for his mother. In addition to her increasing dementia, she is now at a rehabilitation facility in Houston with a broken foot that is proving hard to heal. Her sister is at the same facility, going into hospice care for leukemia. The family needs prayer, and strength to help all face the sisters' situation.

Cathy and John Clement mentioned a decision they may be facing about where to live: their Woodbridge tenant is deciding whether to move out (he has doubts about the deal he has been working on) and so we don't know what to do about selling the Fairfax house. We pray for God's guidance and obedience to His will.

Nora, Larry Springer's wife, continues to struggle with mental illness. She continues to show some positive signs but is at times withdrawn and unwilling to interact, even with close family. We pray for Nora and for Larry.

Please keep praying for Doug's mom's long-term recovery. She has damage to her liver, and maintaining liver function will be a problem. And Doug's brother, who lost his job because seizures (due to an accident) made it impossible for him to drive; and others in the family with house fires... We need prayer warriors to go to work for Doug.

Please also keep praying for all the needs in our church, and for God's will to continue to be manifest in what our Potomac Crest church community does to serve.
