By the Book Prayer Requests for Sunday 4/18/2010

Praises, travel mercies:
Winnie Cooper is back home from the hospital, and doing well. We continue to pray for her swift return to Sunday services.
Cathy Clement is away this weekend, visiting with her daughter Veronica and family. John misses her.
Prayers:
We continue to pray for Claudia McManamey, who has now been home for going on seven weeks. You can, as always, read the latest update and show your support at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/claudiamcmanamey. Please leave a note if you visit the site.
John Flowers has survived the first week or so of a proposal-writing project at his job, which will occupy him more than full-time for the next six weeks or so. The Flowers family heads south this coming weekend, for JK's wedding. Please pray for happiness and sanity in God's peace. Also for Flowers' family health: John's brother-in-law is now in rehabilitation, and recovery is ongoing. Lydia's father has suffered what appears to be a serious heart attack. John's mother has been placed in another interim rehabilitation facility, while the family tries for a more suitable (and more permanent) placement.
John Clement asks for continued prayers for his stepdaughter Lily and new daughter, maybe to be delivered this coming Monday (tomorrow!). Also Cathy has one more week or so of her online class, after which she can exhale.
Larry Springer mentioned another church with which he maintains contact: Grace Filipino Church is an outgrowth of Grace Baptist Church, and due to the ongoing interest and ministry of their retired pastor, Charles Chilton. Larry reports there is a new home Bible Study group forming in the Gainesville area, with hopes that a new church for the Filipino community may be spawned there. He asks for prayers for God's will and eventual church growth in the area, and strength and patience for 'retired' pastor Chilton.
Ongoing requests: Lydia Flowers and Heather Zerkle, and other volunteers, are planning and preparing for Vacation Bible School, in late June. Please be in prayer about VBS and consider how you might be able to turn your talents to helping...
We continue to remember and pray for the people suffering in Haiti. We are still collecting for the Annie Armstrong fund.
Please pray for guidance and wisdom as our church looks for the Lord to tell us what we as a church need to do next.
