Praises, travel mercies:
We had Cindy Fox visit with us at class... participation much appreciated.
John Flowers reported that he visited with Larry Springer, recovering from heart surgery -- he is doing well, going to stay with a friend before he goes to stay with family.
Veronica Statham (Cathy's daughter) is traveling with her church chorus, from Alabama to Pennsylvania, stopping in Philly before heading back home. [Unfortunately, not coming by DC...] Cathy will be going to Pennsylvania to catch sight of her and visit for a day this coming week. We wish Miz V and her group safe travels and much joy, and also for Cathy...
Phil Ridgway's brother Marty and son Josh are on their way to Surprise, AZ (last night in Terre Haute IN). We pray for a safe journey and good fortune in their new life in Arizona.
Rhonda and Dwayne Pierce are still celebrating Lyric's birth. Mother Britt and baby are visiting (now) great-grandparents. Wish them safe travels. Rhonda reports Britt is loving being a mother...
Prayer requests:
We mentioned Miss Winnie Cooper last week. She is still in the rehab facility, but she is walking around and eager to get back home. We pray for recovery and renewed strength.
Gail Ryder mentioned her dad, diagnosed with inoperable bladder cancer. He will start a six-week treatment regime this week, involving injections into his bladder aimed at reducing the extent of his cancer. We pray for his recovery.
Phil Ridgway and Susan Fitzhugh are working to clean up his house, recently vacated by family tenants. Susan writes: Please keep Phillip in prayer. We have A LOT of work to be done on his house and some we are puzzled on how we will do it. He just walked through the house and is totally in shock at the conditions. Pray for strength and patience.
Keeping in our prayers: Larry Springer; Justin Gillespie and the Gillespie family; John Clement's son Jay. Jay is struggling with depression but he is staying clean and sober. Also Claudia McManamey and her husband Jim.
You can, as always, visit and read Jim's latest updates on their journal and show your support at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/claudiamcmanamey.
We are continuing to pray for the Bolton family. Also, Lydia Flowers and Heather Zerkle, and other volunteers, are preparing for Vacation Bible School, in late June. Please be in prayer about VBS and consider how you might be able to turn your talents to helping...
We continue to remember and pray for the people suffering and trying to rebuild in Haiti.
