Praises, travel mercies:
It's Father's Day! A shout out to all the fathers, and praise to the Lord for your support in all you do. We also pray for all fathers: it's a tough job being a God-fearing, Christ-following father these days.
Travel mercies for Susan Fitzhugh and Phil Ridgway.
Prayers:
Vacation Bible School is this week! Thanks to all the workers who have trained and prepared and decorated the church beautifully. Pray for the children we hope to reach with the message of Christ.
John Flowers asked for prayers for his daughter Candace, who is struggling with work issues. He also mentioned the nomination committee, which will be working on a selection group for the youth pastor position; please keep all concerned in your prayers.
Mary Dunlap, formerly a member of this Sunday School class, asked for prayers. She has a doctor's appointment for Monday; pray for discernment and help from the doctors.
Cathy Clement asked for prayers for her daughter Veronica; Cathy recently learned that Veronica had been cutting herself as a response to stress. She is doing better now, but she needs guidance. Please keep her in your thoughts.
We continue to pray for Larry Springer, recovering from heart bypass surgery, and for Winnie Cooper (one of PCBC's founding members), recovering at home. We are also praying for Justin Gillespie and the Gillespie family; and John Clement's son Jay. Jay is struggling with depression but he is staying clean and sober.
Also Claudia McManamey and her husband Jim. You can, as always, visit and read Jim's latest updates on their journal and show your support at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/claudiamcmanamey.
We are continuing to pray for the Bolton family. And, of course, we continue to remember and pray for the people suffering and trying to rebuild in Haiti.
